Wind Up Radio is Sarah Blumel and Anisa Cameron.
We create music, video, installation and performance about the things that scare us the most: fire, flood, drought, famine, sentient AI, the breakdown of civilization, aliens, the rich abandoning the earth for mars; the future.
Inspired by the climate crisis, existential dread, and the ennui of middle age, our work of late engages with two main ideas: WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE IF WE STAY?
Lab grown meat, super pigs, bionic bodies, mining bitcoin and coal for profit and energy. WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE IF WE GO? Colonizing mars, mining diamonds on mercury, flying our garbage off-world. It's a good time.
